COVID-19

UPDATES AT THE INDIANA BASKETBALL ACADEMY

Updated JUNE 15TH, 2020

We have been closely monitoring and following the guidelines for COVID-19 so that we can continue providing the safest environment for our players, parents, and staff to the best of our abilities.  In compliance with the State of Indiana's plan to Re-Open Youth Sports, we are taking the following steps to maintain cooperation and implementation of guidelines:

IBA Staff and Facility

  • IBA Staff are trained on social distancing, sanitation, cleaning hands often, and respecting space while talking with players and families.  Staff will continue to wear facial masks.

  • IBA Staff will be required to check their temperatures upon arrival each day and required to stay home if they are sick.  Anyone exhibiting symptoms related to COVID-19 (fever, cough, shortness of breath) will not be allowed to participate and sent home immediately.

  • Frequently touched surfaces will be sanitized regularly throughout the day.   The entire facility will be thoroughly cleaned at the conclusion of each day with an EPA/CDC recommended disinfecting solution.

  • Sign-in sheets will be collected digitally to gather contact information for participants if a positive case of COVID-19 is reported.

  • Doors will remain open during events to prevent surface touching and increase fresh air flow.

  • Symptom Precaution Signage, Social Distancing Signage and Proper Hand-washing Signage can be seen throughout the building.  Floor and seat markers are in place to remind and encourage social distancing and frequent hand-washing.

Players, Coaches, and Referees

  • Several Hand Sanitizing Stations are available around the gym for participants and guests.

  • A game ball will be provided and sanitized between games.

  • Post-Game player handshakes will not be permitted to limit contact.

  • Players will be allowed to enter the facility when the previous game is finished and the teams + spectators have left.

  • Referees will have their temperature taken upon arrival.  Anyone exhibiting symptoms related to COVID-19 (fever, cough, shortness of breath) will not be allowed to participate and sent home immediately.

  • Team Rosters with contact information will need to submitted prior to games to gather information for participants if a positive case of COVID-19 is reported.

Parents, Guardians, and Fans

  • Only 1 Spectator per player is allowed to be in attendance inside the IBA Facility.

  • Maximum capacity for IBA is 250.

  • Facial Masks are strongly recommended during this time.

  • Spectators will sit in marked areas of the bleachers to maintain proper social distancing inside the gym.

  • If you are volunteering at the scorer’s table - a mask will be required.  Hand sanitizer will be provided and disposable masks will be available if needed.

  • Scoreboard controllers will be sanitized between each game.

  • PARENTS ARE CONSIDERED TO BE THE FIRST LINE OF SAFETY DEFENSE.  IN ALLOWING THEIR CHILD TO PARTICIPATE IN A GAME, THEY ARE CONFIRMING THEIR CHILD, AND ANYONE IN THEIR HOUSEHOLD, IS NOT EXHIBITING ANY SYMPTOMS RELATED TO COVID-19.
